Why do some people call the sharks predators of the sea?

There are many different types of sharks in the sea.
Tiger sharks, Bull sharks,Hammerhead, Great whites
and many more. A shark has a large dorsal  fin on their back.
The streamlined body, large tail and dorsal fin help it swim quickly.
It has many wide gills on each side of it’s head to help it breathe. Its skeletal system is made of cartilage and it has no bones.

It has no eyelids and never sleep.Sharks prey on seals and sea lions.
shark attacks have been reported in warmer waters like South Africa, Australia and parts of the North Island of New Zealand.

The first sharks appeared more than 420 million years ago, before the time of the dinosaurs
Most sharks are harmless to man, but some are man-eating.



Sadly sharks are hunted by people for their fins.
