Why do some people call the sharks predators of the sea?

There are many different types of sharks in the sea.

Tiger sharks, Bull sharks,Hammerhead, Great whites

and many more. A shark has a large dorsal  fin on their back.

The streamlined body, large tail and dorsal fin help it swim quickly.

It has many wide gills on each side of it’s head to help it breathe. Its skeletal system is made of cartilage and it has no bones.

It has no eyelids and never sleep.Sharks prey on seals and sea lions.

shark attacks have been reported in warmer waters like South Africa, Australia and parts of the North Island of New Zealand.

The first sharks appeared more than 420 million years ago, before the time of the dinosaurs
Most sharks are harmless to man, but some are man-eating.

Sadly sharks are hunted by people for their fins.

Stardome Trip

Yesterday the senior school went to the stardome observatory .First we went to this big dome shaped building and it reminded me of a gigantic upturned bowl. Then we were greeted by to the man what was he saying.Then we watch this video.Next  we saw how the heart pumped blood around the hanuman body and it’s effect on the brain .Then we went to the star we saw matariki,orion's belt,signs of the zodiac pitchers.Next we looked at the things at stardome my favorite part was when you spin the ball round.Then if it goes to the middle it goes fast like  usain bolt.Next I watch the movie of the rocket when it went to space.Then we went to this room to watch this movie about the space station.Then we watched how to brush your teeth and eat and how to go to the toilet and to exercise.Then I saw a big gold skilkope.  


       

My Holiday Recount

In the holidays I went to my training on Tuesday First we ran around the

field then we run up the hill we needed to run up and down 5 times.

Next we sprinted to the other side.

On Thursday we had training again we needed to do 10 push up and 5 star jumps.

Then we did passing. Next we ran with the ball and kicked it then we got

a try. The coach told  us who we were playing  on Saturday.

On saturday we challenged Manukau it was raining hard out.

First we warmed up .We lost our game to Manukau. it was a warm up game.   

               

Useful Hands

At Glenbrae School we have revisited our School Treaty and as part of this exercise all classes are working on 'a book about hands'. We are looking at positive ways in which hands can be used.
